REMOTE TEACHING & LEARNING OPEN FORUM

Thursday 21 January 2021

3.30-4.30pm

Google Meet: https://meet.google.com/njp-vesr-gzm

It’s been a whirlwind for schools since the Christmas holidays with staff facing lots of pressure to not only plan and deliver remote education within a very short timescale, but also to become experts at it overnight! We would like to offer a bit of support to all our clients by hosting a short virtual open forum focusing on how to get the best from pupils, students and teachers via remote teaching and learning.

The open forum for our current clients will take place on:

Thursday 21 January 2021

3.30-4.30pm

Led by Vital York’s Google specialist, Russ Goodwin, and two education colleagues with a wealth of experience in remote and online teaching and learning, this will be a great opportunity for colleagues in primary and secondary school and MATs to:

  • pick up tips

  • share ideas

  • hear about others’ experiences

  • ask questions

  • begin to formulate ideas for best practice within their school/organisation.

Chris Gladstone, who has SLT responsibility for Operations, and is Teacher of IT, Computing and Engineering at Archbishop Holgate School and Jake Reeves-Kemp, Computing Specialist for the Ebor Academy Trust and Year 6 Teacher at Haxby Road Primary Academy will talk about their experiences of remote learning both during lockdown and before, and be on hand to answer all your questions.

How do I take part?

Please fill in this quick form to let us know you will be attending.

On the day, all you need to do is join with Google Meet at 3.30pm on Thursday 21 January, by clicking this link: meet.google.com/njp-vesr-gzm

So that we can accommodate as many schools as possible, we politely ask that a maximum of two colleagues per school join the session.

**Please note this is not a hands-on session which will teach you how to use GSuite and Google Classroom. It is a forum for sharing best practice knowledge and tips when using remote education.

We look forward to seeing you next week!

Best wishes
